Founded in 1869 by William Meydenbauer and incorporated on March 21, 1953.
Bellevue has and is undergoing rapid change. It is the second largest city in Washington State. Bellevue ranks as the 15th wealthiest of 522 communities in the state.Bellevue was named number 1 in CNN Money list of the best places to live and start a new business. With its local proximity to Microsoft, Seattle direct access to surrounding cities and major freeways. Education
Bellevue has its own school district (Bellevue School District) but is also within the boundaries of Lake Washington School District, Renton School District, and Issaquah School District. Bellevue's schools are consistently ranked among the best in the country. Bellevue also has two collages: Bellevue College (BC) and City University.
Economics
Bellevue has a wide range of industries both in the retail as well as the service sector. It has three major shopping centers besides Bellevue Square. Home to many of the top 25 biggest public companies in the state; such as Puget Sound Energy , a gas and electric utility company and PACCAR, trucks and heavy equipment manufacturer.
