Mission Statement
Kirkland

Kirkland is located on the northeast shores of Lake Washington, a short distance from Seattle over the Evergreen Point floating bridge. Kirkland has many waterfront parks, tree-lined streets, lanes of boutique shops and restaurants. Beautiful outdoor artwork, many positioned for public interaction, expansive views of the lake, Seattle and Olympic Mountains that lie in the distance. Watch the eagles soar, sailboats and windsurfers catch some air, kayakers paddle the shoreline, and motorboats anchor up at public docks next to restaurants in the region's only downtown waterfront.  With many waterfront parks, festivals, restaurants, art gallaries, shopping boutiques, and much more. With the Olympic Mountains in the distance, it's an exciting place to live, work, and visit. By June of 2011, Kirkland will became the 6th largest city in King County and the 12th largest in the State, but it still maintains that small town feel and great quality of life.

Since incorporation, Kirkland has consolidated with or annexed several of it's neighbors, Houghton, Totem Lake, South Juanita, North and South rose Hill, just to name a few. With these districts as part of its makeup, Kirkland is one of the most beautiful and distinct communities in the state of Washington. It is no wonder that families can't wait to move in and become a part of this strong community.
